Monica Laronda, Ph.D. of Northwestern University describes a remarkable breakthrough in reproductive medicine accomplished by the research team she participated in under the leadership of Teresa Woodruff, Ph.D. and Ramille Shah, Ph.D. The team has developed a bioengineered, 3-D printed ovary that, when implanted into mice, allows the mice to conceive and deliver normal babies.
